ARISF and GAISF President Raffaele Chiulli joined a number of combat sports leaders at the FIKBMS awards ceremony in Rome to celebrate the rise of combat sports in Italy.
Among those illustrious sports administrators in attendance were Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) President Giovanni Malagò, World Association of Kickboxing Organisations (WAKO) President Roy Baker and Vice-Presidents Espen Lund and Francesca Falsoni, and European Sambo Federation President Sergey Eliseev.
There was great applause and respect for everyone in attendance, but particularly to athletes and technicians. They have been the driving force behind a resurgence in popularity for sports such as kickboxing, Muay Thai and sambo in Italy.
“Kickboxing, Muay Thai and sambo are three highly respected members of the global sports family and all of them got the IOC Recognition which is the pre-condition to get the possibility, in the future, to be included in the program of the Olympic Games,” President Chiulli said.
“I would like to congratulate FIKBMS President Mr D. Milano for his efforts to achieve continuous and constant growth, and also to CONI President Giovanni Malagò for his unwavering support to FIKBMS.”
During the Ceremony, the FIKBMS President Milano honoured Raffaele Chiulli with a special award for his great contribution to international sports development and to all ARISF international sports federations.
