ARISF pays tribute to Patrick Baumann

October 15, 2018

Dear friends and colleagues,
It is with a great sense of personal pain and regret that we learned of the sudden and tragic loss of Patrick Baumann.
Patrick was a pioneering and inspiring sport leader, a passionate lover of all sports and a gifted and kind human being.

His passion for the development of sport, at all levels was incredible and his vision to deliver innovative Youth Olympic Games will make a difference in the lives of many young people. He was a creative leader, always available and ready to help, he will be missed by all of us and remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, friendship and belief in the potential of sport to contribute to society.

I had the honour of working with him as a colleague and as a good friend over the years. Patrick made a positive impact on all he met and on whatever mission he set out to accomplish. Patrick has left us all with a great legacy and we should go forward and continue to make this world a better place through sport and I speak for the entire ARISF Family when I say how much he will be missed.

His sudden departure has no doubt shocked the entire international sport community and we cannot imagine the devastation this loss has brought to his family and friends.
On behalf of ARISF, we sadly mourn the loss of someone who would light up a room with his energy and passion for life and living.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences to his wife, children and family.
